Family History

Howdy Everyone,

First off I want to thank everyone for their prayers for the whole Whitley family, the support has helped us start moving through the grieving process. My Papaw's death has made me realize what I didn't know about my family when I was talking to his brothers and sisters. I have decided that I would like to make an up to date family tree book for everyone. I am going to need help with names, dates, etc. So if everyone can pass this information along I would be greatful!! I need family pictures, couple pictures (wedding if possible), children names, dates & places of birth, Marriage dates & places. For spouses married into the Crow family I need their full names (includes maiden names), dates & places of birth, and their parents' names. I'm hoping to have the book completed and ready to hand out by Christmas with everyone's help of course!!

Thanks, Steph

P.S. Please email facts and photos to:    whitley_stephanie@yahoo.com
or snail mail to:  9820 S. County Rd 1213, Midland, Texas 79706 (My new address)

P.S.S. We set the wedding date for September 4th of 2010!!!!

New Addition to the Family!!

Hello All!!

On May 14th at 4:06pm, Shelby and Sandy had a beautiful baby girl (Addysen Brailey Whitley) weighing 6lbs 4.3oz and was 19 in long. She loves to sleep during the day then keep mom and dad up at night. Shelby and Sandy recently bought a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home at 1806 13th street in Odessa. Addysen's room is so bright and welcoming for the new little girl. Add Image

Tim and I just finished closing on our house which is being built at this time at 9820 South County Road 1213!!! We plan to be moved in by the end of June!! Nessie our red and white Siberian Husky is due to give birth to 6 puppies any day now (HINT HINT: If anyone wants one!!). Buddy the miniature dashound is recovering from a dog attack where he was cut open about 2 in on his right side. Loki the black and white Siberian Husky is getting over Tick Fever.  Sarina just finished her first BIG ballet recital, she did awesome and remembered all of her steps!! Cole is doing very well in school (A's and B's) and he received an award for the math portion of the TAKS test. My surgery went well to cut out the pre-cancerous cells from my cervix. The doctor says that there shouldn't be a problem from here on out and that he is pretty sure he got all the abnormal cells. Tim's Dad has had Pnuemonia for the last two weeks but is now feeling better is eating and working again. Thanks for all of the prayers!!

Love Y'all, Have a safe and fun summer!!

A Crow Thanksgiving

Together Again!
What a wonderful weekend. Thanks everyone for coming to Arrowhead. We know that it's difficult to make the trek to our place and we really appreciate the effort it took to get here for a holiday. Thanks also for helping with the expenses. We enjoyed seeing each and every one of you. We especially enjoyed seeing Mom with all of her kids after all of these years. Thanks also to the paparazzi and professional photo editors (including Mom) who made us all look like models. Click here for the online photo compilation.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love, Gary & Mel

Nice Visit, Bad Circumstances

Aunt Joy was at Arrowhead for her annual nursing school reunion. They have been coming for several years now. Grandma was adopted right into the bunch. Unfortunately Joy wasn't able to return to her home in Baytown today when the reunion was over. In fact, she still has no word about the condition of her house because Baytown has no power or water and residents are urged not to return yet. She was headed to her sister's house in Kingsland over by Llano. Thomas, who rode out the storm at Cindy's house in Cypress, told her to stay there until he had things back up and running at home.

The Bingham's were here as well. They left this morning even though Friendswood still had no power. Danny and Bobby stayed behind through the storm and report downed trees and fencing at all of their houses, as well as some roof damage. Overall though, houses were basically in good shape. We have many non-family guests still here at the resort because they cannot yet return home. It was difficult to watch them wait for the storm, and now difficult to watch them wait for news. Makes us thankful for what we have.

Once Upon a Time...

Cindy sent this picture to me and I thought you'd all enjoy. Anne and I talked today about possibly trying something like this again with the Crow-Hassell-Morrison clans getting together, maybe in October at a central location like Wichita Falls? Any thoughts?

Happy Late B-Day Steph

It's not that we didn't think of you-- just that I haven't had time to sit down and wish you a happy day. Hope your day was a good one. 23! Wow! It really doesn't seem like that long ago that you came into the world. Now I sound old, huh? Hope your job is still going well. Let us hear from you when you can.

Fw: It's Official - Upcoming Wedding Bells!

Well, it's official - Kellen & Tana are getting married on May 27th in Las Vegas, the same place Sarah & Tomas got married.  YIPPEE!  We're all thrilled to have this decision made - and about Tana becoming an official part of our family!  And she says her parents are excited about going to Vegas.

The Amarillo clan will leave on Monday, May 26th, the wedding's Tuesday afternoon, and then Kenny, Averey & I (and probably Sarah, Mas & Saylor) will return on Wednesday - Kellen & Tana will stay another day.

If anyone's interested in an excuse to go to Vegas, Southwest currently has a special fare of $99 (one-way) thru Feb 27 (not that they probably won't have other specials in the near future...).... don't know yet where any of us are staying.

Anyhow - just wanted to share that happy news.... FINALLY!  :-)

Not too much longer

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well! We are trying to get ready for Christmas and the arrival of this little girl, so things are busy around our house! Everything is just going wonderful...Im getting a little uncomfortable...but other than that, things are great and most importantly, we have a healthy baby girl! She still doesn't have a name--we just can't quite decide on one. We may just have to look at her face before we know. Less than 7 weeks to go....can't believe it is already that close!! Im posting pictures that were taken quite awhile ago, but they are so sweet! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas...and soon we will be posting pictures of the baby!!!! Stay tuned....

DALLAS COWBOYS v. GREENBAY PACKERS

Hello all, just wanted to share some pictures of the time we had at the DALLAS COWBOYS v. GREENBAY PACKERS game!!! It was cold in our nose bleed seats, it took forever to exit the stadium after the game, but it was all worth it!! Tim (my boyfriend), Cole (Tim's son), and I had sooo much fun...although Cole was mad because he wanted to wait for Tony Romo to autograph his jersey. Hope everyone is still doing good!!

Vacation Blog

Alyssa tells me I am blog crazy. She may have a point. I hear that some people are actually making a living doing it. If I could only figure that out...

Anyway, here's the link to our vacation blog for anybody who's interested. We're off in just a bit.

Scuba video

Gary has been anxious to find a way to post this underwater video from Cozumel ever since he took it last February. Finally we have the ability to upload videos directly to Grandma's blog. The video was taken with his Canon SD600 in an underwater housing.

It was great to see Collin and Anna here this weekend, plus Anne and Grandma of course!

Hey Officer Whitley!

Thanks for the update. Hopefully you Whitleys will be able to get together sometime during the holidays. How are you liking your job? We think of you often. Have a great holiday, and please stay safe!

Happy Holidays!!

Hello Family... I just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and an early MERRY CHRISTMAS!! This year these holidays are going to be a struggle for the Whitley family to get together but we are going to try to manage the best we can. Shawn says this is the WILDFIRE time of the year so he can't say if he'll get to spend either of the holidays with the family until the day before. I work the day before Thanksgiving and the day after, also I am working through Christmas and New Years. Shelby will be working at Benny Boyd's the days on either side of each holiday. Hopefully the family will get together the day of christmas like we used to!!

I hope everyone has safe and warm holidays.

Happy Birthday Alyssa

I know we'll see you tonight at Olive Garden, but we wanted to take a minute to tell you how proud we are of everything you have accomplished in 19 years. You are truly an amazing person in our eyes. We are always proud when our restaurant customers tell us how much they miss you on Friday and Saturday nights. You have touched many lives, and have an army of people here standing behind you. Have a great day!
Love, Mom & Dad

Happy Birthday Anne

I can hear the green fields of Ireland calling to you from here. I am sorry that we didn't wish you a happy birthday yesterday. We could blame it on the termites we're battling in cabin 4, but there's really no good excuse. Hope your day was sunny and warm, with lots of smiles. Be sure to come back from across the pond with lots of pictures and stories. We love you!
